Welcome to
HorseFriends!
HorseFriends is a Christian
nonprofit group with the mission to bring joy
and strength through horses. We design a specific curriculum,
horse interactions and a support format to address the difficulties of,
and solutions to our participants’ life challenges. By integrating the
support group component along with horse experiences, we attempt to
bring change spiritually, emotionally and physically. Sounds very
theoretical, right? Here’s how it plays out:
|
HorseFriends is…
-
Seeing God pour out His gracious presence on those
with special needs...
-
Watching huge animals be so tender, and seeing the bonds that form
between horses and people...
-
Individuals with multiple sclerosis sharing their
loss of identity and wishing that others would see what is on the
inside, not the outside...
-
Teenage boys and girls interacting with 60-year-old
mentally and physically handicapped men. As we watch, the teenagers
appear to be the adults and the men seem to be excited children
doing things rarely possible for them. We know that the lives of
both sides are being permanently altered...

-
Watching autistic children's disabilities melt away
as they enjoy sharing the horse experience with siblings and
parents.
-
Volunteers saying, “I never really understood before
what these people go through...”
-
Changing their lives and ours too…

We invite you to be a part of this ministry. We need volunteers,
helpers, prayers, and financial support. What can you give to those who
are hurting?
